Introduction
From February to May, I had the opportunity to work on two unique projects: a pilot project for training a customized machine translation (MT) engine to translate a fanfiction from International Spanish into US English and a consultation for a translation management system (TMS). Below is the video presentation of each project.
Pilot Project: Training a Customized MT Engine
We used Microsoft Custom Translation and Systran to see the feasibility of training a machine translation engine to translate fanfiction.

- Estimate the time and work needed to train a Neural Machine Translation (NMT) Engine.
- Fan Fiction ‘Recuerdos del Primer Amor’, written by Darky_OnlyDarkness inspired by the Disney movies Big Hero 6 (2014), Coco (2017), and Encanto (2021).

- Most of our documents are subtitle (.srt) files and translation memory (.tmx) files.
TMS Consultation
Our client, a major streaming company, is receiving a high number of negative feedback about their TMS efficiency from internal departments, external suppliers, and vendors.
Our client is reviewing its system structure and evaluating the feasibility of improving or replacing it.
